Fugro maps the physical world, from the seabed to infrastructure. Its Virgeo platform makes that geo-data valuable to clients. The strategic direction was there; what the initiative needed was tangibility. Because a vision on paper invites discussion, while a prototype in your hands invites decisions.
A team of designers embedded with the Fugro team for nine weeks: fieldwork, workshops and the translation of strategic concepts into detailed UX designs, mock-ups and working prototypes. Early validation was the point: every prototype was put in front of users and stakeholders to test whether the direction held up outside the meeting room.
The Virgeo vision became something you can demonstrate: prototypes that show stakeholders where the platform is heading and give user validation something real to bite into. Strategy and execution connected, which is exactly the intersection where we like to work.
